Exact-size generator

Need a TXT of a different size?

Create a valid TXT file of any exact size, byte for byte, right in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and you can generate as many as you like.

  • Perfect for upload limits: 9.99 MB, 10 MB and 10.01 MB in seconds.
  • Up to 20 copies at once, bundled in one ZIP.
  • Unique copies get different checksums, for duplicate-detection tests.

Use cases

What you can test

  • Exact upload limits with files of precisely 1 KB, 100 KB, 1 MB and 10 MB.
  • Encoding detection with UTF-8 and UTF-16 files.
  • Unicode rendering: accents, right-to-left text, CJK and emoji.
  • Line-ending handling with the Windows CRLF file.
  • Empty-file validation with the 0-byte file.
  • Streaming and chunked reads on the 10 MB file.

About the format

What is a TXT file?

A TXT file holds plain characters with no formatting. It has no signature, so software has to guess its encoding. UTF-8 is the modern default; UTF-16 files usually begin with a byte order mark.

Windows ends lines with CRLF (\r\n) while macOS and Linux use LF (\n). Mixing the two is a classic cause of diff noise and parsing bugs.

FAQ

TXT files: common questions

Are the sizes exact?

Yes. The size-named files are exactly that many bytes, so they are reliable for testing limits at the boundary. The file list shows the precise byte count.

Why include an empty file?

Zero-byte files break more code than you might expect: upload forms, hash functions, parsers and progress bars. It is the quickest edge case to test.

Can I use these text files in commercial projects?

Yes. Every text file here is free for any use, including commercial testing, demos and tutorials. No attribution is required.

Can I download the same text file more than once?

Yes, as many times as you like. There is no sign-up, no daily limit and no waiting timer. Direct links also work in scripts, CI jobs and automated tests.
